About the Founder

Shane James

Founder, Avolv.ai

I am Shane James. I own a Tampa Bay software company called Avolv, and it is the only thing I do.

I have spent 25 years leading customer success and post-sale organizations at B2B SaaS companies. Oracle for 9 years as a Principal Architect. Tanium. Onapsis. Manta, which sold to IBM. data.world, which sold to ServiceNow last summer. That work paid the bills. Avolv is what I am building now.

Avolv is one system for pool and home service companies. It runs the website and how you show up in search, the phones, texting, the AI assistant, customer management, booking, route optimization, the mobile field app, the invoicing into QuickBooks or your whole bookkeeping if you want it there, and the owner reporting on top of all of it. I built it, I sell it, and I support it. When you call Avolv, you get me.

Why field service, why now

I spent two decades watching enterprise SaaS ship features nobody asked for while customer success teams held the whole thing together with spreadsheets and personal favors. Pool service and home service run the same way, but with less budget and higher stakes. A missed invoice at Oracle is an email thread. A missed invoice on a nine-hundred-pool route is real money out of a real business owner's pocket.

Avolv is what happens when someone who has done enterprise post-sale for 25 years decides to build for the operators who actually need the software to work. One system, honest pricing, no contracts, and when you have a question you get the founder on the phone.

How I work with customers

I onboard every tenant personally. I sit in every migration. When Simon at Resort Pool Services asked for supply catalog purchasing, chemical P&L with labor burden, and Ask the Supervisor, I built them. When Julie at Keep It Clean needed the cleaning vertical wired up properly, I did it. The Avolv roadmap is not a product manager's guess. It is what the operators I actually work with need next.
